What is the difference between mixing and mastering ?
Mixing involves balancing and processing each individual track (volume, panning, EQ, compression, effects, etc.) to build a cohesive, polished stereo mix.
Mastering takes place after mixing. Work is done strictly on the final stereo mix to refine it as a whole—optimizing overall volume, tonal balance, dynamics, album consistency, and preparing the tracks to meet distribution standard specs (streaming, CD, etc.).
